I wish I had a flashlight. It's so dark.... How long has it been dark?
"It's been dark for a while, Warrior. You just never realized it."
"Hello!? Who's there?" I ask hesitantly. Who in the world could be talking to me?
"I'M talking to you, Warrior. You remember me, don't you? Way back in Lavender Town, y'know?"
"Lavender Town? ...That you, Mr. Fuji?"
"No, imbecile! Take a close look!"
The darkness around me disappears. Does it? It's hard to tell with all the light in my eyes. Nope, now it's dark again. But this is different; my eyes are adjusting to this kind of darkness. Is this... the top floor in Pokemon Tower? Why am I here?
"Ahhh... much better, isn't it?" The voice comes from the other end, and my mind brings me back to the day I got Gengar. That horrid day was one I wanted to forget, but never could. It's just too vivid.
"Warrior, my boy, you haven't changed a bit! Or maybe you have?" says the Shadow.
"You make me retch. I've wanted to keep you out of my thoughts for the past three years, but you won't let that happen! You and your creepy face just won't go away!" I yell.
The Shadow just hisses at me. "You rude, little brat! I'll have you pay for your comments! Come to the Pokemon Tower at once, and we'll settle this with a Pokemon Battle!"
"Fine by me!" I yell back.

I look up at the tiled cieling. The darkness is still there. Wait, no, it's just night time. How long has Doc had a tiled cieling in his lab? He's always had a metal one.... I take a quick scan of the room. An I.V. is being fed into my arm. There's a heart moniter with a wire attached to my chest. Seems I've been put in a hospital. Not much else is going on. I glance at the clock, and note that it's 3:27 A.M. It's doubtful that there's going to be very tight security at this hour. I rip the heart moniter patch off my chest, and slowly remove the I.V. from my arm. Sitting up, I realize my head doesn't feel that great. What happened again? I just remember the black-clad man, then blacking out under an intense weight.... Blastoise! I was crushed by my Blastoise! I scan for any sight of my PokeBalls, and see them resting safely on my night stand. Then I look around for my clothes. Luckily, they're on the chair by the window. I get out of bed as quietly as I can, and get dressed. Once my PokeBalls are securely attached to my belt, I open the window. Ugh, a screen. My knife isn't on me. Great. Just perfect. The one time I need it, and it's nowhere to be found. Maybe...
"Gengar, come on out," I whisper. The release is the loudest sound I've heard since I've awoken. Gengar blends into the darkness so well that I can only see its red eyes and its pearly whites. "It's good to see you again, friend," I say. "We've gotta bust out of here. Mind lending a hand?"
Gengar nods approvingly. It jumps back a ways, and sends a Shadow Ball at the screen. Er, what used to be the screen.
"Nice job! Now let's get out of here; we've got business in Lavender Town," I tell him. He gives me a look of understanding, allows me to board him, and we fly off into the darkness. Wait, no there's a street lamp. NOW we're flying off into the darkness.

"Alright, let me sort this out. During the night, while no one was looking, someone snuck into the hospital, stole Warrior's clothes, stole his Pokemon, and kidnapped him?' asked Doc.
"Yes, that's the general consesus," said the officer.
"Did you ever ONCE think he might have run away?"
"That's not possible, kid. He was in a freaking coma, there's no way he's gonna be movin' about anytime soon," replied the officer.
Doc sighed at this. "Yes, but he has always been a fast healer. I'd wager that he ran away, if anything."
"Can you prove he wasn't kidnapped, kid?" asked the officer.
"Can you prove he WAS?" retorted Doc. Officers these days. Sheesh.
"Actually, we've got video evidence that proves he left his hospital room. However! He didn't leave by himself. He was in the company of a large, purple object with red eyes."
"Are you KIDDING ME!?" screamed Doc. "That's his GENGAR!"
The officer had no reply. He looked quite dumbfounded in fact. The hospital was a bustling beehive of activity as police men and women and their Pokemon ran around looking for clues. Doc and the police officer he was conferencing with were in Warrior's hospital room. Bryan had been discharged late last night by Alex, which surprised Doc, but didn't find unusual. Nite had left last night in a hissy fit. Warrior was no where to be found. Everybody else was supposed to be sleeping at Doc's lab, but he had a feeling they weren't.
"If you find anything useful, call me," Doc told the officer. He walked out of Warrior's room and into the hallway. Man, he thought, I sure hope Warrior will be okay....
"Out of the way! Move!" someone yelled from down the hall.
Doc jumped back into the doorway as a man ran past him, followed by two police women.
"Thief!" yelled one of the police women. "Get back here!"
Doc followed the trio out the door into the parking lot. He spied the man running towards a car. He unhooked his lone PokeBall from his belt, and threw it into the air. "Go! Heracross! Stop that man!" commanded Doc. Once Heracross was out, he bolted across the parking lot and pinned the man to the ground. Doc arrived at the car the moment the handcuffs were clicked into place.
"Gee, thanks, kid. Your Heracross sure helped," said one of the officers.
"Don't mention it, ma'am." Doc held his PokeBall out his PokeBall and called back Heracross. "I'd best be on my way."
It wasn't long before Doc got back to his lab. Jaycee was sitting at the table eating cereal, but no one else was around.
"How was Warrior?" asks Jaycee.
"Uhhh... Not good. He's sort of... gone missing."
"WHAT!? We've gotta go look for him!" exclaims Jaycee.
"Just hold your Ponyta. We don't have a single clue as to where he's gone to, and his PokeNav is with us. We're better off leaving it to the police," Doc explains. "The only logical thing we can do is wait for any leads the police might get."
"That's not enough, Doc! We have to do something! We can't just sit here and wait for a phone call!" cries Jaycee.
"Then tell me what we're going to do, Jaycee! Tell me what your plan is to find War! We've got absolutely nothing to go on!" Doc yells. "If you wanna go on a wild goose chase, go ahead!"
Jaycee just sits at the table and stares at Doc. After about a minute, he goes back to eating without another word to Doc. Doc just sighs and jumps when the door bursts open.
"Doc! Jaycee! You gotta listen to this!" says Spade. Behind him are Bryan and Alex.
