*On a beach somewhere between Meteor Falls and Rustboro City*
Mask was laying unconscious face up in the sand. Luckily he was able to use the last of his strength to maintain Hyper Mode so he wasn’t crushed by the force that Registeel sent his way. As he lay there a man in a black suit almost like his approached him.
“Hey, half-wit!” yelled Shark. He kicked Mask in the arm. Seeing no response he bent over a little more. “I said, HEY HALF-” Mask grabbed Shark by the face and threw him into the water.
“I HEARD YOU THE FIRST TIME!” Mask sat up to yell at Shark.
“The why didn’t you respond?!?!” Shark wiped the blood from his mouth.
“I was having a nice rest after being thrown from Route 120.”
“Well too bad!” Shark got up and walked over to Mask.
“How did you find me here anyway Shark? Weren’t you on a cruise?” Mask taunted.
“Yeah I was, and there were lots of hot girls who like strong trainers like-” This time Mask drop kicked Shark.
“No, there weren’t. Stop telling that lie.”
“Whatever, man.” Shark scowled. “Anyway, I found you here because I was told by Boss to make sure you completed the mission right…which you failed to do.” Mask held his hand up to his face. His mask began to form and he lost the aura surrounding his body.
“You don’t need to remind me Shark.”
“Oh, I believe I do. You see, the Boss thought it was so unchill of you failing your mission that he told me to tell you something.” Shark reached into his pocket and pulled out an Ultra Ball. Mask took one look at it and was enraged.
“How the hell do you have that?!”
“The Boss entrusted the Regirock that you captured to me as a symbol of authority.” Mask was astounded.
“WHAT?!?! Shark, you are my subordinate, so I command you to-”
“Ah, but you see, the Boss thinks that I am chill. So chill, in fact, that he has made you MY subordinate and given me 10 troops and Regirock to make sure that Regice is captured according…to…plan.” Mask was almost speechless, but he knew that this was coming. He also knew that there had to be a catch.
“The Boss would never give you such a powerful arsenal if he hadn’t told you to tell me something…so out with it!”
“…No.” Shark turned away from Mask and crossed his arms. “I don’t want to.”
“YOU WILL DO AS YOU ARE TOLD!” Mask round-housed Shark in the back of the head. He then put one foot on his back. “So tell me what the Boss’ condition was.”
“Ow ow ow ow ow, ALRIGHT, I give. The Boss told me that I could have the troops and Regirock and be your superior IF you were unable to complete the Regice capture.”
Mask released his foot from Shark. “That is more like it.” Mask turned away from Shark and started to head inland.
“Where are you going?” Shark asked.
“To Regice’s lair.”
Shark looked up at Mask. “Uh, Mask?”
Mask turned around. “WHAT NOW?!”
“…I just wanted to point out that Route 105 is that way.” Shark raised a hand and pointed in the opposite direction of where Mask was headed. Mask tripped and fell to the ground.
“I-I knew that…”
“No you didn’t!” Shark laughed loudly.
Mask ran over and side kicked Shark in the chest, sending him flying into the ocean. “YES I DID!” He then turned and walked in the direction Shark pointed. He released his Golurk and jumped on its shoulder.
“Ugh, so bothersome….on to Route 105 Golurk.” Mask sat down to take a nap.
*Route 105*
Mask hopped off Golurk and returned him to his Pokeball.
“All right, we are here… now where is the temple?” Mask started to search around the island he was on when he felt something hit the back of his head. He turned around to see Shark throwing pebbles at his head. He was dressed in a camouflage clothing made for the forest.
“THAT’S A TERRIBLE DISGUISE!” Mask slapped his hand against his face.
“Says you!!” Shark threw another pebble.
“No, that disguise makes you stand out even more!”
“Whatever, I look chill. Besides the show is about to start.” Shark pulled out a bag of popcorn from one of the pockets in his suit.
“What are you talking about?” Mask was confused.
“Just don’t lose buddy, your status depends on it!” Shark smirked and slapped Mask on the back.
“I still don’t understand what you’re talkin-” Mask turned around as he heard the sound of wings beating in the air heading toward the island.
